RUF unveils electric Porsche Cayenne
RUF is one of the biggest names in Porsche tuning market. They always come up with insanely powerful packages for the German sporscar.
But it seems that they are replacing their love of horsepower with passion for green cars! You might remember the 911 Greenster they unveiled last year, and now they have come up with the first SUV running purely on electric power. It’s called the eRUF Stormster and is based on the Porsche Cayenne.

Powered by Siemens electric motors, the Stormster’s powertrain seem to be quit good as it generates 270 kW (367 bhp). But it has one big flaw, and that is the amount of extra weight it brings along! The eRUF now weighs more than 2670 kg, and as a result of that, it is really slow.
Reaching 100km/h from standing still in this once sport SUV takes 10 seconds and it has a top speed of only 150 km/h. But it can cover 200 Km on a single charge. Although the car is fitted with RUF classic wheels and Hankook tires, you can tell that the handling won’t be just as good as the original due to its hefty weight.
